Technical Sessions and the NOBCChE ConneXions Poster Competition

The 2021 call for abstracts is now closed.  If you submitted you should have received a notification by June 19.

Due to ongoing COVID-19 concerns, the Board of Directors has made the decision to again take this year’s conference virtual. The virtual event will be held September 16th – 18th.  

If you have been accepted to present:

  1. You should have confirmed your participation through the emailed form by June 25, 2021.
  2. Presenters must register for the conference in order to be eligible to present.  You will find the conference rates and a link to sign up on the Register page.
  3. POSTER PDFs and video recordings will be due no later than July 19, 2021.

    2. If you need instructions on how to record your presentation you will find them here,
    3. When selecting your export quality please choose the HD (720p) option.
    4. Please use only 1 "slide" which is your poster,
    5. If you need to enlarge your poster to fit a PowerPoint slide:
      1.  Select File
      2.  Select Page Setup
      3.  Select Custom
      4.  Enter w 48 in., h 36 in.

  4. ORAL PRESENTATIONS will occur live through the virtual platform.  Please stay tuned for details via email.
  5. All participants will have their resumes included in the database provided to exhibitors.  To update your member profile with your resume and database search criteria, please login to the member portal and visit your profile or fill out this form.

This year we accepted submissions for both oral presentations and posters. Accepted poster presenters will have the opportunity to participate in one of several poster competitions in which cash prizes will be awarded. Accepted oral presenters will present live through the virtual platform and also have the opportunity to win cash prizes for best presentation. All the presentations will be viewable only by registered conference attendees.

Session Proposals


NOBCChE solicited proposals for the NOBCChE 2021 Virtual Conference.  The deadline to submit session proposals has passed.  Through these sessions, participants add knowledge and tools to their current skill-set to further support their careers, academically and/or professionally.  NOTE: submission does not guarantee acceptance for the virtual conference.  Please direct all questions to [email protected].  

Submitters of approved proposals should already be in contact with the committee that selected them.

Best Practices and How to Record Your Presentation


Best Practices:

  • If you are including video of yourself in the recording, please make sure that you are in a well-lit space with the light coming from in front and/or the side of you.  If the light is behind, directly above, or below you, your face will be in shadow.
  • When selecting your export quality please choose the HD (720p) option.
  • If you are presenting a poster and need to enlarge it to fit a PowerPoint slide:
    • Select File
    • Select Page Setup
    • Select Custom
    • Enter w 48 in., h 36 in.
