Technical Sessions and the NOBCChE ConneXions Poster Competition


The 2021 call for general abstracts is now closed.  If you are part of an REU program, please submit your poster abstract by June 15.

Submit an Abstract

Due to ongoing COVID-19 concerns, the Board of Directors has made the decision to again take this year’s conference virtual. The virtual event will be held September 16th – 18th.   This year we will be accepting submissions for both oral presentations and posters. Each of the accepted presenters will receive feedback on their abstract from the review committee and may have the opportunity to participate in one of several poster competitions in which cash prizes will be awarded.  Presentations will only be viewable by registered conference attendees.

If you are accepted to present:

  1. Presenters must register for the conference in order to be eligible to present.  You will find the conference rates and a link to sign up on the Register page.
  2. Oral presentation recordings and Poster PDFs and presentation recordings will be due no later than July 19, 2021.  
    1. A link will be added here after abstract acceptance notices have been sent out to submit your presentation materials
    2. If you need instructions on how to record your presentation you will find them here,
    3. Please remember that as a poster presenter you will only have 1 "slide" which is your poster,
    4. If you need to enlarge your poster to fit a PowerPoint slide:
      1.  Select File
      2.  Select Page Setup
      3.  Select Custom
      4.  Enter w 48 in., h 36 in.

    5. When selecting your export quality please choose the HD (720p) option.
  3. All participating students will have their resumes included in the database provided to exhibitors.  To update your member profile, please login to the member portal and visit your profile or fill out this form.

Session Proposals


NOBCChE solicited proposals for the NOBCChE 2021 Virtual Conference.  The deadline to submit session proposals has passed.  Through these sessions, participants add knowledge and tools to their current skill-set to further support their careers, academically and/or professionally.  NOTE: submission does not guarantee acceptance for the virtual conference.  Please direct all questions to [email protected].  

Submitters of approved proposals should already be in contact with the committee that selected them.

Best Practices and How to Record Your Presentation


Best Practices:

  • If you are including video of yourself in the recording, please make sure that you are in a well-lit space with the light coming from in front and/or the side of you.  If the light is behind, directly above, or below you, your face will be in shadow.
  • When selecting your export quality please choose the HD (720p) option.
  • If you are presenting a poster and need to enlarge it to fit a PowerPoint slide:
    • Select File
    • Select Page Setup
    • Select Custom
    • Enter w 48 in., h 36 in.
