Team Formation
Gather your team of science enthusiasts and register for the Science Bowl to showcase your collective brilliance. Teams can consist of students from the same school or a mix of participants from different educational institutions.

Prizes and Recognition
The top-performing teams and individuals will receive national NOBCChE recognition as the brightest minds of 2024, an honorary NOBCChE Nex-Gen membership for each team member, and an invitation to the 2024 NOBCChE National Conference where students can represent their skills in a rematch against the runner-ups.

Science Bowl FAQs


What is the National NOBCChE Science Bowl?

The NOBCChE National Science Bowl is an academic competition that tests students’ knowledge in all areas of science and mathematics. Middle and high school teams compete in a past-faced competition being tested on a range of science disciplines including biology, chemistry, earth and space science, physics, energy, and math.


How many players do I need to form a team?

Teams must have 4 players and 1 coach to classify as a competing team. The Junior Division will consist of teams made up of 7th, 8th, and/or 9th graders. The Senior Division will consist of teams made up of 10th, 11th, and/or 12th graders.


How do I sign up my team for the National NOBCChE Science Bowl?

You can sign up your team by completing the Science Bowl Interest Form to receive scheduled informational sessions on the 2024 Science Bowl structure, rules and regulations, and registration and recruitment deadlines.


How do we prepare for the National NOBCChE Science Bowl?

Each competing team will receive resources and materials to help prepare and build a successful team.

Are travel expenses to Greensboro, NC covered by NOBCChE or by the participating team?

Traveling teams must raise the funds to cover travel expenses to and from the National Science Bowl. Event transportation and meals will be arranged and provided by NOBCChE for the duration of the event.


What events take place during the NOBCChE Science Bowl?

Competing teams from all over the country will travel to Greensboro, NC to compete for the national title. Throughout the duration of the event, students will get a chance to participate in educational workshops and events planned around competition hours.
