CHEMISTRY – RICE UNIVERSITY The Department of Chemistry anticipates an opening for tenure-track or tenured faculty, effective as early as July 1, 2016. Rice University is strengthening its mission through broad investments that include University-wide initiatives in Molecular Nanotechnology and Data Sciences. We seek faculty members who will develop a dynamic and innovative independent research program and will excel in teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels while embracing Rice’s culture of excellence and diversity. Excellence and scholarship in teaching and research are the primary selection criteria for a search in these broad areas of chemistry: organic, inorganic, experimental physical, and biological. Emphasis will be placed on candidates whose research interests complement the already existing strengths of the department and Rice University in the focus areas of materials, life sciences, energy, and nanotechnology.
