The AAAS Science & Technology Policy Fellowship (STPF): Perspectives on Impact from Chemistry Alumni

This session will share information about the AAAS Science & Technology Policy Fellowship (STPF). STPF is a professional development opportunity for PhD STEM professionals from all sectors (industry, academia, government) to work at federal agencies in Washington, DC addressing national science policy issues. STPF staff will share program information regarding the eligibility criteria and the application process. STPF alumni Fellows with chemistry backgrounds will share tips and insights on crafting a competitive application, as well as, share the benefits and impact of the Fellowship on their career trajectories and current roles. Topics that will be discussed:

  • How STEM professionals can inform and lead in science policy at the national level
  • The STPF application process and eligibility.
  • Insights and tips from chemistry alumni on how to craft a competitive application and the benefits and impact of the Fellowship on their career trajectory
