Faculty Position in the Research Area of Energy and the Environment

The Department of Chemistry in the College of Science at Virginia Tech, in support of the University’s strategic plan, is expanding its research presence in Energy and the Environment, and thus announces a tenure-track faculty opening in this broad research area. Candidates from a variety of research fields are encouraged to apply, with areas of particular interest including: Development/characterization of materials for energy conversion, transmission and storage, catalysis, spectroscopy, photochemistry, and
polymer or soft materials chemistry. Appointments at the assistant professor level are preferred but senior candidates will be considered. This position will start in Fall 2016 at our Blacksburg, VA campus.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in chemistry or a related field and 1 year of postdoctoral experience by time of appointment. The successful candidate will be expected to establish an externally funded research program and teach effectively at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
