The Department of Chemistry at Vanderbilt University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level for Fall 2016.  We seek candidates who will establish an externally funded and internationally recognized research program in the area of experimental physical chemistry at the interface of nanoscale/materials science or chemical biology.  It is expected that the candidate will be able to participate in one or more of Vanderbilt’s transinstitutional initiatives (e.g. Vanderbilt Institute of Nanoscale Science and Engineering or Vanderbilt Institute of Chemical Biology), all of which provide additional core infrastructure that facilitate interdisciplinary and collaborative research and education.  The successful candidate will teach in the undergraduate and graduate programs in the Department of Chemistry.  A Ph.D. in chemistry or a closely related discipline, with a distinguished academic record, is required.
