Tenure-Track Faculty Position in Biochemistry at the University of Central Florida

 The Chemistry Department (www.chemistry.cos.edu) at the University of Central Florida (UCF, www.ucf.edu) invites applications for a tenure-track position in Biochemistry to begin on 8 August 2016 at the rank of assistant professor, or associate professor for exceptional candidates.

The selected applicant will be expected to establish a prominent, externally-funded research program; teach biochemistry and related disciplines at the undergraduate and graduate levels; and provide service to UCF and the profession. Eligible applicants will have a PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related discipline; at least two years of postdoctoral experience; and a strong record of independent, well-regarded research.

The Department offers the PhD in Chemistry and BS and MS degrees in Chemistry and Forensic Science. The Department currently has 39 faculty members including several joint appointments, 589 undergraduate majors, and 106 graduate students. Chemistry faculty members have joint appointments or collaborations with the Burnett School of Biomolecular Sciences, College of Medicine, College of Engineering, National Center for Forensic Science, NanoScience Technology Center, and CREOL, The College of Optics & Photonics.
