ThE NOBCChE Science Fair is a poster competition in which students (Grades 6-12) present an individual completed research project. Students in Grades 6 – 8 will compete in the Junior Division while students in Grades 9 – 12 will compete in the Senior Division. First, second, and third place trophies are awarded at each level and winners will be honored at the Awards Luncheon held on Sunday, October 6, 2013.

The Science Fair will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at the JW Marriott Downtown in Indianapolis, Indiana. Check-in and setup will be from 9 am to 10 am with the competition running from 10 am to 12 pm.

The participant must demonstrate their ability to conduct a research project by:

• Submitting an abstract of 150 words or less on an independent research project in the physical sciences, engineering, mathematics, or biological sciences (excluding live vertebrate experimentation)
• Presenting the results of the research in a poster format, including answering questions from judges
• Submitting a written report during the poster presentation. The research report (including all appendices, tables, charts, etc.) may not exceed ten double spaced typewritten pages

All participants must be accompanied by a Chaperone. Registration must be completed by the Chaperone for all student participants by August 30, 2013. There is no cost for participation. Chaperons may register their school/students for the Science Bowl, Step up to Science and College Fair at the same time.
