The Bates College Department of Chemistry invites applications for a tenure track position at the assistant professor level, beginning in September of 2016.

The successful applicant will be expected to participate in teaching the sophomore-level two-semester organic chemistry sequence. Individuals with expertise in any area of organic chemistry are welcome to apply but special consideration will be given to those applicants whose background will enable them to support the interdisciplinary Program in Neuroscience through teaching a relevant upper level chemistry course and by mentoring student research projects.

 

Candidates should have a commitment to undergraduate education in a liberal arts college setting and should show promise of excellence and innovation in both teaching and scholarship. The teaching load is five courses per academic year, distributed across two semesters and one 5-week spring term.
